Powertex wins 50,000

Powertex Wins 50,000 DKK in Future Textiles Prize
Competition
Future Textiles Expert Summit chose the project Powertex as the
winner of the International Prize Competition. Powertex is a
textile that can charge electronic devices such as mobile phones,
tablets, laptops etc. The textile can be used as a table cloth or
as upholstery in trains, busses and other public spaces.
Behind Powertex is a team of four industrial design students
from Aalborg University. In the run up for the prize of 50,000 DKK
or 6,500 EUR, Powertex beat Grow Green a German project by two
students from Niederreihn University.
Director of Future Textiles, Hanne Troels Jensen says, "Powertex
is an innovative product with a good commercial focus. I have no
doubt that we will see Powertex in production within the near
future".
The Prize Competition's is sponsored with 50,000 DKK by Ege
Carpets.
